The song obviously talks about Peter Pan (different version) who falls in love with a typical girl who’s “prettier than Wendy or Cinderella” and made Peter Pan’s heart pounds.
The message of the story is really sweet and great. The whole song is narrated by Peter Pan who is scanning his diary filled with his romantic memories with the lady he loves while they were having an adventure in Neverland.
Peter Pan reminisces his sweet moments he had with the pretty lady; their stare at each other, smiles for one another, the time Peter Pan “beating away all the villains who bothered [the lady], and their sweet kiss that they shared to each other. Everything and every detail are still remembered by him because all those memories are precious for him.
But, the part that made me sad is when Peter Pan said that “It’s a bit sad that I can’t go back to those times”. When Peter Pan turned to the last page of his diary, he said that he didn’t have the courage to read it because it would make him very sad.
Everybody doesn’t like sad endings, so Peter Pan mentioned later in the song, “Our story is not over because we will meet again”, and he said in the chorus part that “I’ll go looking for you to Neverland by following Tinkerbell”. It’s so sweet, right? Despite his clumsiness, he said that he would still run for the girl he loves so much.
